ISOCARP YPP Workshop in Durban, SA
My first Young Planning Professionals’ workshop attendance of the International Society of City and Regional was during the 52nd ISOCARP World Planning Congress in September 2016 in Durban (SA). This event marked simultaneously the 25th anniversary of the format initiated by the late Estefania Chavez Barragan which I had the honour to meet in person, my transition towards the urban scale, and my ongoing involvement with ISOCARP.
During the workshop, I worked with Li Wan, Ashleigh Manyara, Mbalenhle Ngidi, Hanna Obracht-Prondzyńska, Oriyomi Akinyemi, and Siyabonga Njeke under the supervisor of Dr Lovemore Chipungu on the Urban Development Line of the eThekwini Municipality. Our project was awarded the Best Poster and Presentation award.
